Thatmo is the first moon of Neidon. It is the Triton analog to the game and has a thin atmosphere. Its inclined, uniquely retrograde orbit makes reaching the moon challenging, especially when transferring from Neidon's other moon, Nissee.
In-Game Description
“ | This icy moon was found to have a very thin atmosphere, just thick enough to support aerodynamic flight. It has been the number one destination on every daredevil aviator's bucket list ever since. Oh, and it rotates in the opposite direction around its planet as every other moon. Quite the strange moon indeed. — Kerbal Astronomical Society | ” |
Atmosphere
Thatmo has a very thin, freezing atmosphere extending up to 35km ASL, barely enough to register as an atmosphere. While present and just about able to slow craft down before reaching the surface, parachutes cannot be deployed in the near-vacuum; the sea level pressure of which is just over a seventh of Duna's but over five hundred times the pressure found on real-life Triton and similar to that in the lowest elevations of Mars.

Composition
Given its real-life analogue and the very low temperature, it can be assumed that Thatmo's atmosphere is largely nitrogen, as most other gases would either not be dense enough to form a substantial atmosphere or would freeze solid in the extreme cold-Thatmo's ice is presumably similar to its Tritonian counterpart in that it adopts a structure allowing it to sublime into gas at very low temperatures. Atmosphere analysis reports suggest mainly nitrogen and some ammonia and halogens (likely fluorine).
Surface
Owing to the fact that is largely ice, Thatmo's surface is mostly undulating, icy plains with some slab mountains chains stretching North-South across the frozen wastes. The surface also sports no large craters and few, if any, smaller ones, due to either Thatmo's thin atmosphere providing some protection from impacts and wearing away craters or cryovolcanic activity periodically refreshing the surface and paving them over. Various surface science reports and the wrinkled nature of the topography (suggesting tectonic activity) lend weight to the latter theory, though the effect of the atmosphere cannot be discounted.
Biomes
Thatmo has a total of 13 biomes.
